Albeit that 2020 allowed plenty of time to read, I have also been reinventing my career path with Careers in Nonprofits, enjoying toy photography and meditating along with the Ten Percent Happier program, of which I wrote more about in a separate post about my “Journey to Self”.
Here’s my 2020 reading list:
Traveling Music – Neil Peart
RIP “Professor”. Thank you for sharing your life’s journey with us as only you could.
Bad Blood – John Carreyrou
A confirmation of why I’m putting my skills to use towards a greater good versus a greater greed.
Beneath a Scarlet Sky – Mark T. Sullivan // as a history and WW2 buff, I very much enjoyed this story of courage, love and hope during perilous and uncertain times.
Make Your Mark – Nurys Pedersen // I review this in my post, “Making My Mark.”
Drive – Daniel Pink // as a Psych major and someone in the midst of a career change, I refer to this book quite often.
The Miracle of Mindfulness – Thich Nhat Hanh // I mentioned my meditation practice and my “Journey to Self” … mindfulness is indeed a miracle.
Everything Bad is Good For You – Steven Johnson // a silver lining to the TV and Netflix binge-a-thons!
Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell // “accidental opportunities” … looking back, I would not be where I am without them … I fully embrace them and trust the serendipitous nature of my life.
Zen Philosophy Zen Practice – Thich Thien-An // a guide to nurturing my roots and continuing my essential practice.
What’s on your list?
